Or if your lazy, and don't care how much to spend.. buy a quality one made from MDF. Subzone is a great example.

question about the stryke subs.. one of mine is making a weird tapping noise when hitting. and it does not have to be hitting really hard. i have 2 of them in a sealed box built to spec. and also they always seem to be hitting at different times. and i checked to see if the pos. and neg. were reversed and they werent.. any ideas would be great.

yeah they will be louder, but more importantly much deeper and better SQ overall. If you go 15's they will be extremely loud.

For sealed 12's I suggest 1-1.25 cu ft per sub....I have mine built to about 1.25 and it sounds great. If you want to port it, than someone else more knowledgeable on the board will help you figure it out.

Sealed 15's you will probably want to go with about 2 cu ft per sub.
