The AV can take over 1500wrms. If the box is a high Q (small sealed), you can shove in the power. Only reason why i say this is to prevent bottoming out of the sub. If in a ported box, you could also shove in a lot of power.. just don't turn up any of the "bass boosts". As long as the gains are set correctly, and no bass boosts.. you should be fine with that horrible amount of power.

I have the soundstream EGA 2440 pushing a single AV12...880 watts RMS with no problems. It can easily handle more.

I love my amp....dave helped me decide on an amp last summer when I got the AV12. At the time it was like 230 from carstereoexpo, but just a few weeks ago it was down to like 160 from there. It truly is a great amp for a great price...can't find the optional bass boost control knob anywhere, but other than that its excellent. Great sub, Great Amp= Great Setup. It doesn't run extremely hot or anything, I haven't ever had it turn off due to getting hot on trips either so I am very pleased with that. It accepts 4 guage wiring. I can't think of anything I don't like about it (maybe its size, cause its about 19 inches long, but than again I have it suspended from my rear deck in the trunk so I don't ever see it). It has a clean look to it as well.
