Whats going on guys...just thought I would post and let you all know i recently bought a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited...it has every option for that year except for the V8...which is good cause i wont get drilled for gas...it has 62,300 miles and it cost $8500....came with leather, heated seats...new tires..cd...infinity sound system...the color is rosewood...i really love this truck...it rides smooth and now i dont have to worry about all the potholes that we have here in nj...this thing goes right over them...and as far as the snow...goes right through it...no problems what so ever...now the tour can sit and relax for a couple months...it has too many miles now anyway...over 80,000 ...and its a 99...does anyone own a grand cherokee on here...if so let me in on some mods so i can get this jeeper goin...so far i have the silverstars in there and a K & N drop in...

80K is nothing on a 99 - it's very understandable for a five-year-old car. There are many CEG'ers running around with well over that even. (Unisys, for example, just turned 200K on his 98.)

At any rate .. congrats!!! We used to have a Grand Cherokee, it was one of my favorite vehicles my parents have owned.

I want a Cherokee. One of my friends just got one for a winter beater. Put a wall of 12 10's in it! I guess I'll just stick to the Ranger

i just got a 92 exploder xlt....good truck. Little rust here and there but the engine is fins as is the trans, and believe it or not the V8 isn't much worse than my svt on gas. For $1000...i couldn't say no.

You'll get sucky gas mileage with the inline 6 as well, sorry to say. My wife has a 98 Cherokee Sport, and she might just hit 20 mpg on a long highway trip. Four-wheel-drive gulps down the gas even faster. She had a 95 Wrangler before that. Jeeps are great, sturdy vehicles that don't ask for much in terms of maintenance or repair, and they're not too primadonna-ish so that you're afraid to get in one with muddy shoes..

But when you can run an inline 6 to 316,840 miles, like my uncle did, it just might be worth it
