I'll be brief...

Saturday I bought this degreaser and right after washing my car I try to "wash" the engine: i sprayed a little bit of the degreaser and hose it off.

Next day I disconnect the battery to do some work on some vaccum hoses.

Well... today after I am done washing the car and fixing little things three strange things happned:

1. The AC is not cooling. I dunno if it is coming on when I switch it on. I have to check it after work. I tried to check it but something else caught my attention (#3)

2. My clock is not working... I mean.. it is working... I can see the numbers but the lights is not working... know what i mean ??

3. After noticing that the AC wasn't work upon getting at the office I opened the hood. (I drive 20 miles to get to work). It seemed like the engine head was on fire. You know how methanol burns, with no flames but you can hear it burning ?? I was scared... ****... I first thought the degreaser was burning... (but i did hose it off three days ago). The thing is I never really noticed before how hot the engine can get after driving 30 minutes in a hot morning and I am not sure now if those "invisible" flames are normal. The sparkplug wires seemed to support the heat... maybe that is normal working temperature.

Well.. that's is too long already... any of you experienced CEGs.. please let me know about any of these issues I am facing now... thanks...

When you washed the engine you may have dumped a lot of water in the EEC connection plug...not good. The smell from the exhaust sounds as if you saturated the insulation that is under the heat shields.....

Any time you disconnect the battery, it takes a while for the computer to reset things. This should be the situation with the air conditioning. It took mine most of the 25 mile drive home to start blowing cool, but it did work.

Geeez man... I thought something went wrong...

I didn't know the battery had anything to do with the AC & the computer...

I just hope you are right... even though I never heard about that before...

That's cool man.. that would be so goooood laugh laugh

I wish someone else would confirm that... u know.. just to make me really certain about that... laugh

EEC = Electronic Engine Control (ie - Computer)
also: ECU (Engine Control Unit), PCM (Powertrain Control Module).

While my temp gauge always reads below the "N" on the gauge, it's always pretty toasty under the hood.

If you're talking about "seeing" the heat coming off the engine, I'm pretty sure that's normal.

However, if you are seeing actual flames, no, it is not at all normal! eek
