Hey everyone..this could belong in the Troubleshooting or even General Mods, but seeing as I'm F/I'ed, maybe I can slide.

I just installed my Walbro 255lph high pressure intank pump. Upon startup and relearn the car has developed a hickup at idle every 15-20 seconds, and has a serious hickup on throttle tip in. I checked for codes and had a pending code of P0190 "Fuel rail pressure sensor malfunction". Now I went with the high pressure unit because of it's higher availability to that of the low pressure....plus the "powers that be" stated that the rail pressure sensor would /could regulate the appropriate amount of fuel.

I spoke with Keyser and he stated that upon relearn given so much extra fuel over a stock fuel pump relearn that the fuel maps could be way out of wack and need to tune themselves in....Enough to hickup though?

Any insight/advice/opinion is greatly appreciated guys.

TIA

SVT Focus returnless fuel pump assembly - 3S4Z-9H307-BC (255 l/hr smart pump) is only ~$85.

It may be possible that even at a lower voltage the fuel pump you are using still supplies too much pressure.

Yeah it sounds like your exceeding the limits of the stock pressure switch and its throwing the MIL. Sounds like the wrong pump

I offer PnP Heads for all durtec's details at PnPheads.com or jesse@pnpheads.com for details.

That Walbro pump is not meant for a returnless fuel system. They will work in the car but the pump is designed to have a constant voltage like a return style system. I have already purchased the pump Demon posted but have yet to put it in. There are many mustangs running this pump is excess of 400+ HP.

Demon, what's included with this "assembly". I'm guessing for $85 it's JUST the ppump and maybe a sock, right?

Is the Focus "assembly" the basket/pump etc. or just the pump itself as I have slightly "modified" the stock basket to fit the Walbro's height.

Thanks you guys....

No, it is the whole assembly. You get the pump, sock, bucket and fuel level sending unit with all connections to just plug-n-play. I have one sitting beside me.

Holy crap! That's a damn sight cheaper than the $270 they were asking for the CSVT unit. Fuggers!

I would be all over that if I was having fuel issues. I wouldn't even bother messing with the stock one.

Just make sure you get rid of that bottom disc filter before you install it. That's the POS that clogs real quickly and fries the pump in our cars.

The circular screen taht sits under the basket is the one you're referring to.....right?

Thanks you guys...Unfortunatley I'm out the $100 I spent on the Walbro, but if the SVTF pump works I'll soon forget about it.

Know anyone who needs a "slightly" used GSS342?
