My cel came on last week, but everything seems to be running fine. What are some of the common things to look for in this situation? Would it be beneficial to get an OBD-II computer to pull codes?

Thanks

lol... hey, wait, my balls do itch... anyway back on topic

Take it to Autozone to have the code pulled, then post it here and we'll try to help. It could be anything from a loose gas cap to a failing engine.

I think generally most codes are related to the 02 sensors, at least thats my personal experience. I had a code a couple weeks ago that was a "Slow reading 02 sensor."

What about your fuel economy? O2 sensors will hurt your milage!

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Fuel economy is fine, still getting 22-24mpg. Performance is still normal. Will Autozone pull the codes for me?

AFAIK, everywhere except California, where they can't by state law.

I have been having a CEL pop up now and then(maybe once a month, comes on for a few days, then goes away). No difference in drivability/fuel economy, Autozone pulled code P0430 or something, can't remember.

Most commonly it is either O2 sensors or blocked EGR passages in the upper manifold (behind the throttle body).

i have a cel for running lean - currently awaiting a grommet for my vacuum hose from the UIM to the Brake booster. the cel has been on since late last week, drives great but idles a tad rough.

today tho, the light decided to not turn on and it ran great.

maybe it just burned out from being on so many times

part should be in very soon then i'll have no more vacuum leaks.
