Mars will explode creating huge amounts of debry in Earths orbital path. When the planet swings back around we collide with all of it.

I don't think the world will "end" in the sense of it being completely destroyed. It'll probably happen like it happened before. Giant rock crashes into it, maknind slowly dies off, the cycle begins again. It is quite possible however that we will ruin the earth before something that catastrophic happens, with pollution, war, etc. It's possible we will turn it into an unlivable place on our own.

Then anyone that survives will find out that the answer to the question of life, the universe, and everything is 42, but no one knows the question

We will accidentally blow up the moon while trying to excavate it for human living. It will cause the tides to go haywire and some will be forced to go subterrainian while other will try to survive on the surface. Both species will evolve on their own into seperate races. The subspecies will develop into animal like cannibalistic creatures because of the lack of a food source below. They will wipe out the surface dwellers and will become the surviving race. One day one of the creatures will uncover a highly modified 3.0 Contour SVT. He will use it to make toothpicks and hammers.
