Got the kit installed yesterday. It looks sturdy and the dash near the windshield is held down by a separate piece, but my complaint is that these pieces are BLACK. Looks awfully funny on top of a tan dash. I suppose I will get used to it, but looks kinda strange. The program is only in effect for another few weeks.

On a sidenote - they must have disconnected something while taking apart the dash because the fan only blows on high right now. Going back in tomorrow. I'll mention the blower motor resistor recall if I have to, but sounds like something just got disconnected. Oh - they put a gouge in the A pillar cover too - may ask for a replacement. They scuffed the back of the shifter knob a little too. See why I hate dealers... comments welcome on the above. Most of you will see the funky dash kit in the next couple weekends.

Borrowed pics:

I'll go check right now.

edit: which cover - the foam one on top or the plastic one screwed on the side (left of left passenger foot)? Do you mean the black harness that plugs into the white rectangle along the back right firewall (behind the foam)? Confusing - lots of connectors back there, some of which went to the old stereo amp, now gone.

Just had the dash done on my wifes car and they did not use the metal plate. Not sure why. I think they may have used the clips. The dash looks great now but not sure how it will do for the rest of the summer. My car is going in on the 14th we will have to see how it comes back. I think I will bring a picture and ask the service manager about it when I bring my car in.

Foam cover on top. Pull this down and the white rectangle should be directly above where the left foot would go. It is the black harness that plugs into the white rectangle directly behind the foam. Mine was actually exposed because I did not put the foam back correctly when I installed my CD Changer.

I checked that one and it seems tight. I guess the dealer can play with it tomorrow. Thanks anyway.

You have the classic symptom of the heater blower resistor recall. Not sure if it is applicable to the 2000's, but they may have shorted something while playing around in there. Make them change it. The recall comes with a new resistor (white rectangle) and a new thicker wiring harness. The stock harness was too small to handle the heat resistance, so they melted and caused all sorts of problems.
