Keep pushing them, No Tracking? That has got to be made available for ANY purchase over $200 or $250 according to Paypal in their disputes. We have a disoute every so often USPS loses an item. They offer just delivery confirmation unless the buyer includes the additional insurance payment. Even when we show we had shipped an item, we have still lost a claim including when a buyer opts not to pay for insurance. Its total BS, so the fact they cant get a tracking number is even more reason to file in your favor. HOPEFULLY the guy you "paid" still had funds in his account they could freeze, if that account is closed, your screwed on that end and only have AMEX to look after your best interest.

For over $250, it's not just a tracking number that the seller is required to show, it must also have signature service.

Ok, well I just went through the process of filing a spoof claim again, this time with the help of someone in that dept. The lady told me that according to what she was seeing, it looked like someone indeed did access my account from somewhere else.
On a more obscure note, a lady from the fraud dept @ AMEX called me on friday and left a message regarding a charge i made to someone on the CEG. I called her back and left her a voicemail that that was the last charge i made that was authorized. I never got a reply. I've been trying to call since friday, to no avail so i called amex again today to ask how to get in touch with this person and the woman i got this time said she was probably calling to tell me that a credit of $700 had been issued to me! Sweet!
She then said they also issued to me a credit of $215, and I said hey i made that charge in may, it's already paid for. She said she could request to have it put back on, but after trying to make her see that wasn't necessary as it's already been paid...i said just forget it. She said there was only a balance of $35 on the card which sounds right either way.
Hooray beer!

Lots of folks get suckered on those emals that ask questions about an item on ebay or a fake payment that was sent (which tricks you into logging into a false paypal)
That's what I was going to say. Logging on to spoof sites without realizing it is by far the most common cause of stolen money on PayPal, which is why they ask you to report (by forwarding to spoof@paypal.com) any such e-mails. I almost fell for it once, but then realized that the e-mail came to my Yahoo account... which PayPal is not linked to at all.

they asked me to file a spoof report for unauthorized use of my account.
No worries now though.

yeah, definitely glad i have the card now!
When someone stole my reissue visa and used it without successfully activating it, it still took them over a month to get my money back!
What's this, 10 days?
Still need the visa though...they don't take amex everywhere.

since they were the least helpful in this matter, no.
I talked to atleast 5 different people, all with different stories to tell me. The first person i talked to told me the access tot he account that day came from my IP address, which is impossible because it would have changed since May, which was the last time i used paypal.
Yesterday i was told it looked as if there was access from somewhere else.
I am also still waiting for return calls that i was supposed to get in a few hours. This was days ago.
A couple of people were very nice and helpful, especially the lady i talked to yesterday - but overall their service sucks.
The account is still getting closed.
