Is there some way to bypass the dpfe sensor to make it think the egr is working correctly, just long enough so i can go get my emissions test done and worry about this ccrap later? Similar to how they work on 02 sensors when the precats are gone, is this possible with the dpfe sensor?

I don't believe so ... if you are having an issue with the sensor just change it and be done with it

It's probably easier to replace the DPFE sensor than try to rig something up to bypass it. Just 2 nuts to take off, two hoses and one electrical connector. Takes less than 1/2 and hour.

i just gave up and dropped another $60 into car(new sensor), and the cel has stayed off, so hopefully this is the end of the troubles.

perform a TB cleaning as well. That may have been part of the cause of the DPFE sensor failure. Those passages behind the TB gasket get MIGHTY caked up with soot & crud...

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

You ain't kidding!

Even tho' I run a can of B12 into 'every other tankfull' you'd be surprised at how much 'crud' can STILL accumulate.

Fri., after work, I cleaned out the TB area and then I let her 'sip' a can of B12 via the two vac. lines (the black ones on the very top (UIM) of the engine (v6)). It was a 'balancing act' of letting her sip AND having the engine sputter - but kept running -- and it took a good 8 minutes for "all" of the can to be sipped.

Runs fine now!
