There's a lot of interest in R/C planes on here, what about cars/trucks? I race locally everything electric. Here are some of my cars:

1/10th scale electric on road:
Team Associated TC4

1/18th scale electric off road:
Duratrax Mini Quake - brushless motor and lithium batteries; I don't know how fast it goes, I'm too scared to pull the trigger all the way back!

King of the old school 2WD buggies:
1987 Traxxas Bullet

In the winter, it's too cold to race outside, so I race 1/28th scale Mini Z's indoors:

I've got a lot more, a purpose built rally car, a stadium truck, a few shelf queens, and more stuff than I really ever should have.

2WD. But yeah, that Avante is hot stuff.

Here's my pride Tamiya right now:

It's a 1997 Kure Racing Nismo GT-R (R33) JTCC body on a Tamiya TA-01 chassis with Tamiya 2-piece wheels; 24mm front and 32mm rear. She doesn't race.

Now I'm working on a BTCC Mondeo body for my TC4. I'm almost finished painting it. I still have a million decals to cut out.

I used to race professionaly and was sponsored by Maxtec and Badd Boyz. I never made it to any national competitions however. I had about $4k into my RC10T2 The truck standing alone had about $1k into it. Everything was Graphite, Carbon fiber, aluminum and titanium. It was illegaly underweight by about 18 grams (had to tape quarters to it for racing).
Then when I was in college and strapped for cash I was an IDIOT and sold all my equipment including the truck and the Airtronics 3ps controller on Ebay.. I kick myself in the ass everytime one of these R/C threads comes up.. I wish I would have never sold it.

They did a long time ago. I want to get their new 4WD X10 Buggy, but $495 plus shipping from the UK is a bit hard to swallow.

And no parts support or any other manufacturers' wheels fit. That's a big turn off right there. It's still sexy as hell, though!

i used to know this kid with one of those 2WD buggy's. I don't know what brand it was, it was too long ago - but the fugger used to go so fast the nose would lift and it'd flip over a couple times.

i really want to pick up a car like that though.

EDIT: Looking at tamiya's website, they have a clearance chassis that looks really nice. it's $259. TG10-Mk.1 PRO. I take it i need also an controller/servo kit, and an engine (obviously). Did a search for glow engines, but there's no info on what type of cars they're compatible with. It's confusing the shiz out of me. Are they universal?? What size is needed? Here's one i was looking at http://morrishobbies.com/product_info.php?products_id=14033&osCsid=2894b6c196724128ed0426cbc8761ea2

Maybe someone more experienced can just nudge me in the right direction?
