Searched the archives...nothing came up.

The rip-off Ford dealer wants CAD$40 for the cabin air filter. I found that Fram makes a micron air filter for our cars, only CAD$20 at Crappy Tire.

Sounds good to me, any objections?

I would never use a 2nd class air filter or oil filter, but the cabin filter shouldn't matter and I have save money towards gas and a new IMRC!!

Bosch sells one for US$12. It's has been in mine for one month and I am not getting any any allergic spells yet.

I have a Wix filter. They're suppose to be really good, but they're not really cheap.

i say get it if that's all you can find for that cheap...fram's oil filters do suck but i wouldn't think it would really matter for a cabin filter...hell at least it'd be new and probably bettr than the dirty one that's on there now

I have been using Purolator cabin air filters for years now. 1995 thru 1997 use C14860. Cost less than $8.00.

I used a Fram cabin air filter for a while. Like all Fram filters, the quality was in line with the price (cheap), but it fit well enough, so that's really all that matters with a cabin air filter.

I tried the Fram with the activated carbon when they first came out. I was very unimpressed. It wasn't even as good as the original equipment. I usually use either Motorcraft or Purolater depending on what is available. I have a Bosch ready to install in the next few weeks.

So, I just bought my SVT last saturday, Aug, 6,05. This is my first post. I didn't know that the Contours had a cabin filter. Can anyone tell me where it is? I have a 98.5. Thanks.
