Actually, the show went really quick.

The SQ and Show judging was done by about 1:45-2:00.

The SPL judging was done by 3:00.

In all reality, we could have started handing out trophies at 3:00-3:15, not bad for a show that had 72 cars, several of which were entered in multiple formats.

However, about 2 weeks ago we lost an extremely accomplished and well-known 23 year-old SPL competitor from the area in a 4 car accident, so there were a few events going on to raise money as a tribute to him. We had a 50/50 raffle, exhibition spl passes for $10 each, and even a 30-second community spl burp at 56Hz (his competition frequency) in lieu of a moment of silence. We raised close to $900 that was donated to the family of David Alfaro as a result of the extra hour or so we were there. I think the time was well spent.

We were done with everything and had everything packed up by 4:30, and the judges were at Outback for dinner by 4:45.

For a Tweeter show, that is very early, even with the extra-curricular activities we had going on to "stretch" the show out to the earliest end-time possible given the live radio feed from the show.

i think the burp was measured on the rictor scale. it was intense. it was good to see all the money in the 50/50 go to the family. that was a class act.

maybe the show wouldnt have seemed soooo long if more contour guys would have shown up. you know not the ones from 3 hours, 1 hour and the austrian. i will see you in rockford.

Sorry Mikey, but I just learned the Sept 10 show in Loves Park has been cancelled. I don't know any details as to why.
