not sure if this goes here or not.
i was thinking of getting a power antenna but im not sure which one to get. ive seen all the ones on ebay and they all seem to be the same antenna sold by the same seller. is this the best one to get or is there a better one out there? any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Luis

If you're referring to Attena-X (sp?) then yes, they're OK. I bought my replacement from them and it works great. However, go through their website instead of eBay and you'll save $2 on the shipping costs, at least I did. Also, you'll need an adapter to get the antenna cable to attach to the new antenna.

I got one of those Ebay things for my daughters Contour & it was NOISEY!

I picked up a universal unit from Advance Auto & it was much better. They are very slightly different. Spend the extra $10 & get one from Advance or another local part store. Warranty issues are always good reasons to do that too...

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

i got the antenna-x. no adaptor atleast that i got, just had to cut 2 wires from the origional harness, and splice into the new one... for someone not electronically inclined it might seem a bit difficult at first but its really easy.

only problem i had (besides it being louder than the stock unit) was it turned on with the car, while the old one turned on with the radio. (but thats probably my faulty installs fault )

Yeah, it is. Mine turned on with the car, then I reread the instructions and hooks it up right. As far as it being louder, see below...

I don't notice that mine is loud. However, my stock one was VERY loud before it went out, so maybe I just don't notice it.

I purchased one from E-bay as a replacement and would NOT go that route again. The first one failed after a week and the seller did replace it with another but product is not what I would recommend to anyone. The reception is terrible, I mean really bad and is at best a generic fit.
