The rod that goes from the exterior door handle to the latch might be broken or unclip. It can be the handle or the clip on the latch where the door handle clips that is broken.
Remove the door panel (you cna check in the how-to's) and examine what's the problem.

You are saying that neither the interior nor exterior handles will work?
That's a doozy, if so. Unfortunately, the only thing I can think of, short of manhandling the door cover off to get to the inside of the door, would be to jimmy the door open through the weather seal on the outside of the glass, though this isn't like trying to pop the lock from outside.. (THAT is do-able...) getting the leverage and angle to actually open the door is going to be next to impossible.
I wouldn't know of anything other than cutting the interior panel off the door, to gain access to the insides without being able to open the door to remove the panel the normal way. Unfortunately, you'd have to replace your entire panel from a junkyard, etc.

Ray will use any possible moment to use this phrase... however this time, he actually correct. Had this happen to my last CSVT, I had to break the handle off (PITA) and reach through the hole and push on the rod for teh latch mechanism. More than likly, the linkage has come undone.

ugh......love the sound of this project. Nothing like cutting perfectly good interior panels. So once I do get this cracked open how hard is the replacement of the latch cable and how much do those run?

Doing that right now to my friends car. if we "Manhandle" the lever to get to the cable to release the latch, can we replace the whole interior lever box?
I was driving along today and the check engine light came on. I pulled over and looked under the hood. The engine was still there... silly light!

BTW Parmgeddon DONT RIP OUT THE DOOR PANEL!!!!!!
Just remove the cover plate to the interior latch handle. There is a small plastic dot covering the screw... pop that out, gently remove the cover plate and you are in to the lever mechanism.. that is where we are now. then I guess we have to "manhandle" the mechenism and bust it out of the way. then all you have to replace is that lever box.
let me know how far you are, we're taking a short break from the 90+ heat today...
