5am and i hear a big thump outside... fair sized branch decided it was time to die and fall onto my roof. Dent about the size of my fist rear drivers side corner, right next to the rear window.

not sure if i should try to tap it out or something? im planning on taking some pics at some point when its light out. think insurance would cover anything like this? im thinkin the deductable is probably more than the full cost but i donno what kinda work it calls for.

pretty pissed about this. especially after failing inspection for an exhaust leak. exactly what i need, another bill

Homeowners insurance should cover it. I remember from skunk's meet you really need a paint job... maybe that branch added scratches in pretty bad too, so everything will have to be repainted to repair the damage...

last night must have been the night for trees to attack cars.
saw a taurus on the way to the trainstation this morning with tthe whole back half of the roof caved in and a bunch of short logs cut and stacked next to it.

hopefully ins, will cover your damage.

Watch out today. The winds are really supposed to pick up (gusts over 50 mph).

Good luck with everything.

w3rd

got a phone call from a buddy yesterday who had to vent...
he was driving back home after driving 1.5 hrs to work cause he got word that his tree in the front yard fell over and is resting on - part electrical wire - part 2005 VW Passat.

DOHH!

The wind at my house was ridiculous this morning! It toppled a big maple tree, ripped the end of my satellite off and most of my neighbors had a fair portion of their shingles flapping in the wind! Can't wait to go home and assess the damage.

well i just went out to check the scene, main dent is where i said earlier, but there are a couple more along the way on the trunk. scratches are all along the same path too

kinda wish i hadnt gone out to check the scene when its light out

We have a ton of Oak trees in our neighborhood, needless to say there are branches down everywhere. Our yard is fairly cleaning, a few sticks here and there but nothing compared to some of our neighbors. We sit on top of a hill a mile away from a large body of water so the wind has a tendancy to whip thru our neighborhood. I figured I would find some missing shingles with the winds we saw today but everything seems to be intact.

The wind was pretty interesting by South Station in Boston today - they actually closed down an intersection for a while because things were flying off the roofs of the buildings. One of the traffic lights by Summer St. was bending out of shape, it was whipping around so hard on the pole.

One of the guys at work today saw a parking meter come out of the ground!!!!

It was just nuts downtown, like Matt said. Walking from my office at 280 Summer to Fanueil Hall (the gym is there) was an adventure.

my building had transformer problems.
They told us to shut down and get the hell out within 15 minutes.
lol they made it sound like the building was going to explode.
They're not even sure we'll be back up and running tomorrow morning.

someone made a comment about the artilery supply company that is in our building and how having the power out might be kinda dangerous.
I told Elky to go see if he could get free ammo while the power is out in the building.

Snipey, I thought you had the black SVT that had paint damage on the hood, where the clearcoat was messed up and stuff. I could be wrong though.

The wind here today knocked out the cable at our school. And the power keeps filckering. It rained a ton, then changed to sleet, and then for about 15 min we had blizzard-like conditions. Cars had to pull over because no one could see, it was that crazy.

i don't know what happened but we had the power go out at work today around 9:30 and they let us go around 11:30

now I just hope that they will pay us for the day again like the last time we lost power as I was there and ready to work and it wasn't my fault the power went out keeping me from my job ...

I think you might be thinking of Ronan? I could be wrong here .. but I do remember his paint needing work.

we spent all day today and will spend all day tommorow cleaning up storm damage.

I was shocked to see the lack of major tree damage around here given how hard the wind was blowing. I was hoping that a tree would come down in the woods behind my house so I could have an excuse to play with my chain saw and make some fire wood, but no such luck.

$900 for a full paint job?!?! Don't waste your time, unless this is someone you know giving you a huge discount or something.
