Ok guys,

I've searched and searched, I found a little information for a Zetec (and a TON for a duratec) but I'm still not clear on how to install one of these.

The only things I know is you need to tap into the engine block (or head?) but where? I've also seen something about the stock oil pressure sending unit on the motor.. I have a Mechanical guage I heard that both electronic and mechanical will work.

I just want to know as much as I can possibly know before tackling a job like this.

Thanks,
-Josh

honestly, I'm not sure unless your doing a remote oil filter swap. You can take a look at some of the Focus boards and see where they tap in. Essentially the same motor.

The two easiest spots are...

Tee off of the oil pressure switch on the back of the block.

OR

Take the small plug out of the head hiding behind the ignition coil. Let me see if I can dig up a picture...

I'm going to use that one as my turbo oil feed.

Just found one on the Focus forums...

He has it running forward for his turbo oil feed. But you can still see the little angle fitting that he has screwed into the block. You could probably just get some aluminum spacers and some longer bolts from the hardware store and space your coil off the block 3/4" to clear the fitting.

EDIT
I see that you have a pre-98. You will have to remove the bolt for your EGR pipe in order to shift the bracket out from the block. (It is attached to the bottom of the coil pack bracket.)

Awesome, I'm going out to take my coil off right now, I have a ton of spacers that I can use.

Again, thanks man.

Anytime!

Where are you going to mount it? Did you get a Lotek gauge pod?

no, I dont.

I got it in, theres actually a hole in the coil pack mount that will allow you to access the plug by just taking the coil pack off. I need to go start the car and check for leaks now.

I will mount it on my dash, some where so if i spring a leak i won't have oil all over.

alright got it all going, its at like 60psi (cold) and 75psi (4k.. again kinda cold).. this seems VERY high.. is this normal or is there something wrong?

ok i drove it around till it warmed up, its round 10-15 idle and 45-50 WOT, sometimes 55-60 WOT.

alright i took a short vid of it, not sure why i'm just happy it's in.

Yes, thats a CEL.. been on forever. Car runs fine just keeps throwing the 'lean in bank 1' when you can obviously tell the car runs rich.. I'll get it fixed.

That looks very nice. Match up the color a bit mor and you would be set.

On a side note and a little off topic also, but how many leds are you using in your clock? I want mine to look exacly like that.

The clock has 1 blue LED in it, its a flat tipped one (not round).. I found out the flat tip ones scattered the color more than the round tipped ones do.
