Anyone know which car has the fastest stock 1/4 mile time from the factory?

Just curious...
Close to stock, mine ran a 15.484 @ 86.60, it's not even an SVT!
I meant for all cars not just Contours...but I'd be happy with that 1/4 mile...good job.
McClaren F1 most likely. But.. uhh.. I don't think that's the kind of "stock" you were looking for

Tim
Mclaren F1 is not the fastest production car. That swedish super car is faster than it, but i'm not sure if it has the fastest 1/4 mile times of all cars.

Well, it depends on who's testing, but from car-stats.com:

Mosler MT900 Photon
1/4 mile 11.02 127mph
0-60 3.1
do these count?

Panoz LMP-1 Roadster S
$650,000
600 HP
0-60: 2.3s
1/4: 9.3@148.0 mph

Corvette C5-R
$420,000
610 HP
0-60: 3.5s
1/4: 10.3@136.0 mph

Porsche GT1
$1,000,000
600 HP
0-60: 3.4s
1/4: 10.9@139.5 mph
what does an enzo run? And how come that new lightning engine (500-550hp) isn't in a cobra?

0-60: 3.3 s
1/4: 11.1@133 mph
Even after all these years, the F1 is still close.
0-60 3.2
1/4 11.1@138

Fastest I've seen for the Koenigsegg is 12 flat @ 127 with a worn clutch.

As long as they're street legal...I believe they count. Those are some expensive ass cars!

I thought ass was a censored word?
The street version of the Eagle GTP Corvette with the optional 621 cid V8 putting out 900+ HP and 900+ lb-ft of torque on pump gas supposedly ran low 9's on street tires. The car weighs 1950 lbs. With the sandard 345 HP Chevy 350 it was signifigantly slower. I think most of the race versions used the Buick Turbo 3.8 putting out about 700 HP.

Road & Track did a couple articles on it back in 1990 or 1991. I still have a copy of one of the articles from their 1991 special Corvette issue.
