Well good news and bad news! The SVTOA meet will be three days, first the bad news track fees will be $200 pre registered, first come first serve, 150 cars or something close to that! Solo I and Solo II events only, no drags (get this, I like it!)as SVT intended its cars to be performance cars and would like to show case as so! Also insurance wont cover door to door ! That does not mean its out for us, it just wont be covered by SVTOA. However Saleen will be there and is running a flyer, they are a sponsor, the Shelby tour will also be there! Looks like a lot of stuff to do but most will come with a fee. Looks like a small fee will be charged to all who attend. I actually was sent a flyer but my browser could not read it! Simon the local head of the Las Vegas chapter will be a major player and we can contact him.

My suggestion is find out who is really intrested in this. Figure if your not a member of the SVTOA you will have to join. Then or before we could see if we can work a deal! Maybe get everybody admission at a discount CEG price or something! Looks like evrything is open for discussion or change any thoughts?

Do you know if you would need to be a member of SVTOA to even show up and walk around? I think that alone would be cool. Like an expo just located at the track. Plus, we could watch those willing to pay $200 to fly around the track, get some pics and video and have something to talk about. Oh yeah, and meet our fellow CEGers from the region...just a thought!

Plus, it is Vegas for goodness sake. If you don't do the track thing, there's still a ton to do.

I dont know all the details they will emerge, but I am sure non members will just pay a nominal fee to walk and gawk! With Hotel and track fees bigger breaks a must. I may be forced just to gawk! to broke to walk! but I think we could still get plenty of CEGrs to show!

Ill be there. Just gawking of course. I will have plenty already planned for me however since I have many friends and family down there that I will also have to spend time with. I think it will be a good time, lets see if we cant get a major turn out so Ford can slap there forheads and say Doh when everyone is saying how much they like our Contours and how much they wish they still made them.

Thats great. Yeah $200 is alot to get my ass handed to me so I'll be just walking and gawking too...lol. Would be great to meet all you guys and shoot the sh1t.
If you need me to check into anything let me know.

When is this 3 day event happening exactly? Did I see someone post something about November?
Also, to join SVTOA, don't you need to have an SVT? Silly question I know but thought I would ask to make sure.

I think if everything goes well the plans etc, this could be a HUGE turnout for CEG'ers. Like Madic said, Make FORD crawl back with there tails between thier legs! lol

I'd love to see Ford duck their tails, but it probably won't happen. Wishful thinking... smile

However, the proposed dates are Nov. 2-4 and you can join SVTOA w/out a SVT for $55 - $40 if you own one.

BTW, I am checking into discounted hotel rates as we speak. I am using a service in Vegas and have suggested mainly moderate rooms on or near the Strip. Even the rep knew of SEMA, so it made me feel good (plus, she sounded cute) laugh

I'll keep everyone posted.

Try looking at Hotels/casino's off the strip.....they'll be alot cheaper. Try Santa Fe, Texas Station, Fiesta Station, There in the North, closer to the speedway also and access to the freeways are virtually next door. And there only a 15 min drive away from the strip via freeway. Unless you "want" the strip...lol. Duh, reason for coming here I know.

But just a thought.

About joining SVTOA, if I'm just going to be looking around and gawking, is there any need to join?

I'll probably be gawking with you, but I haven't found that info out, yet. Hopefully not more than a 10 or 20 spot to get in the gates and pay outrageous prices for cholestrol-laden food.

Alright so what I am gathering is that there is no need to join SVTOA unless you want to run the track. When you get confirmation I will either join or decided not to. Thanks for the info TLP.
I'm still in as long as it's not too outrageous to just show up at the meet and look around. Maybe we could get a special "CEG" spot to park our cars. That would be sweet.

Ted have you talked to anyone running SVTOA? I wonder if maybe we can get a small spot to park are cars, obivously there will be a show there right, im thinking that its only for members rides but after all were Ford's and we should have a fairly good turn out. Maybe even if we cant get a spot in the show we can get a spot in the lot?? Worth looking into I would say, if there even having a show. But that makes me wonder is what events are they all having, we know AutoX but what else?
