Hey guys,

Just wondering what a fair price is to install a SVT exhaust on a 96 SE V6. Canadian Tire wanted $125 which seemed a little high to me.

Anyone know what a decent price would be, or better yet, where to get it done in Mississauga?

I paid $90 a few years ago and the shop did a pretty bad job. Had it fixed later but cost me more money then. Can't remember how much. That said I'm thinking that $125 might not be that bad if they do it right in the first place. Remmber that they need to fabricate a new hanger for the right rear muffler. Make sure they do that right.

My question is, where the heck did you find the SVT exhaust? Been looking for one for a while!

$125, Canadian Tire and getting the job done right the first time. What's wrong with that sentence? If you know the guy who will be doing the installation, great. Otherwise sweet talk the service mangager into letting you watch them install. At least you'll know how good of a job it is ...

I didn't know canadian tire was selling Contour SVT exhaust.

You could follow these instructions and save yourself the $125.

I found it on ebay for $90. Looks like it's almost in new condition.

So, there is a right way and a wrong way to install the SVT exhaust on the SE. What would be the WRONG way? Welding it right to the car?

Can you just buy the SVT bracket and install it?

Yes you can buy the bracket. The wrong way to install the exhaust is to have a Mechanic whom doesn't injure themselves during the install and then bugger off before the job is done and done right do it in the first place. Also the best way is to have the right bracket for the job, and not trust said mechanic whom was certian he could "rig it up" no problem.
