Trying to determine what kind of heater I should buy:
Propane free standing one, the perforated drum kind, not the flame thrower style

or

A small wood burning stove.

The propane one would be easier and cheaper but would burn through a ton of gas and I'm not sure how effective it would be.

I have a detached 2.5 car garage so if anyone has experiences with good heaters, let me know. I need something to motivate me into tearing apart my engine and bulding it into a monster!

The best heaters i have ever come in contact with is the one's that look like rocket boosters or thrusters... I'm not sure which category they fall under but by far the best!

I've got one similar to the ones Todd linked to. Works great, but its loud. I usually run it for 5-10 minutes per hour and its all good. my garage is also a 2.5 car detached, not much different from your garage, except I have two sliding glass doors in mine.

I think the smaller one would be fine. 200,000 BTU's and a 100 pound tank required for the second one!

Damn I priced out a hoist and engine stand too, and the shipping is $127! JEEBUS! The heavy stuff need to go by freight.

"F" that. I'm off to Pep Boyz and I'll pick it up myself!
