Awhile back ago my car had broke down sending oil down the back of the block, down the exhuast pipe and so forth. Well today I finaly got it back up and running . After getting the head tested, shaved, new head set, all new rad. hoses(They were blowing out) and setting for 6 months tore down.

I get this knocking noise that wasnt their before and its present at idle, high rpms, under a load, ect... ect.... I was told it was piston slap whatever that is. The engine rusn strong and has power just the added knock.. like the hampster wants out. lol What could this be? BTW my temp sencor isnt working and ive replaced the temp unit.

Boy, thats hard to say.

What was the cause of the failure in the first place? Why was only the head rebuilt? Is it a deep knock like a rod, or is it heard more at the top of the engine, like valve?

Simple things to check/try. Make sure the timing belt isn't hitting the cover. Also try premium gas and if that makes the knock go away then your compression ratio changed.

Well the gas in it atm is about 8 months old... I know I said 6 months old but thats how long the car sat with the engien apart. Im currently running this crap gas out. After its ran out im going to run some throtle body cleaner, fuel system cleaner, and a tank of pre gas. Hope fully that will help.

I'm not to sure why it ran hot the last time. However it did run hot (not in the red hot but close) 3 times before that week due to rad hoses blowing. The last and final time it ran hot it wasn't due to a hose. Like I said before the oil was all over the back side of the block. Also when I changed the oil before even atempting to start it. I bet I got at least 1 1/2 liters of water in the drain pan before I got any oil!

So I also replaced the t-stat while i had everything apart. I also had the head presure tested and shaved for extra measure, because it would suck to get it all put back together and find out the head was warped. I also asked my mech. If the pistons, piston walls, cam gears, ect..., ect... all looked good and he said everything apeared to be fine.

For the time being everyone that asked whats that knock... il just tell them its my tick turbo. lol
