Why do this contour get so much wheel hop when you spin the tires? I had two Taurus SHO and you could spin those tires as much as you like and never get wheel hop. As any budy
installed (hockey sticks) on the front Suspension and does it help stop wheel hop?

Stronger, firmer motor mounts (roll resistors) have been reported to help.

Wheel hop also has a lot to do with the tire you are using.

Small diameter, smaller width, and non Z rated rubber (not as "sticky" ) produce significantly less wheel hop.

Also the suspension on your old couch was set up for cruising down the parkway sipping ice tea.

Any suspension setup for touring (not the US "Touring edition" cars either ) and handling by nature will wind up more because they are transferring a lot more road input back to the driver.

With that in mind the majority of the suspension modification we do to our car makes it worse.
Then again we didn't buy this car to be drag racers either.

i dont understand why i dont have a wheelhp problem. the only time i have a problem with it is:

1. the road is cold and wet
2. i hit a bump or hole in the road while accelerating quickly...

then the wheels lose traction for that slpit second and start to hop. but the other day, i pushed the gas down about halfway and dumped the clutch and no wheelhop in sight, smooth as a babys ass. it does this as often as i do burnouts, i just make sure the surface i am doing it on is farily smooth and has no abrupt changes in texture (like asphalt to concrete) before i do it.

First of all, you have a zetec, so even though wheel hop exists with a zetec it is extremely less than a duratec and can be lessened greatly/eliminated with different tires. Also, I hope you have money to get your tranny rebuilt.

i do have the $$$$, i could send the car to HMS right now and have an HMS Trans put in it...but it would be overkill since i have NO engine mods . ill fix it when it breaks. i dont even need a quafe or a torsen not enough hp!

this car has problems with wheel hop. period.
everyone acknowledges it. i've had 2 front drive cars with more torque than the CSVT and stock suspension with NO wheel hop. both were VWs BTW and both had 4 cylinder 8valve engines. ;-p

upgrade the motor mounts (ES inserts help some), and replace the "stabilo-shok" thingy that is near the tranny mount.
if you can, upgrade it, i haven't looked into it since i'm selling my wheel hopping whip. :-)
