I recently busted the RCA inputs on the amp in my trunk. I was wondering how easy it would be, and where I would need to connect to use the high level inputs instead. Being a college kid I don't have a ton of money to throw around, and I was hoping I could just switch over to the high level and then not have to get my RCA inputs fixed by someone. Basically I want to know what wires to tap into in order to use the high level input. Thank in advance.

What kinda amp?

Do you have the Highlevel input harness still if it uses one?
You would have to connect it to the Speaker Wires on your stereo RCA's low level, SPeaker level High level.. Its easy as long as you still have the high level harness if its needed.

I'd like to extend this thread a little, hope you don't mind too much seanman.

When you use the high level inputs and tap your existing speakers, does it rob a lot of power from them? Also for wiring is it always done in paralell with the existing speakers...if so, does that mess with the load that is now drawn from your head unit (by the speaker and hi level input combined), which in turn has adverse effects?

Sorry about the jack, but i've been wondering about this.

I have the same problem on my Alpine V12. I spliced into my front speakers at the had unit ran wires to my trunk and sodered them to the pins on the amp. I lost my Pig tail for the high level input. Amp is running fine for about 8 months now.

The amp is an SPL but it gets the job done. I do still have the wiring harness that plugs into the amp.
