Heh, I think it's slightly well known that I am a bit liberal, but a bunch of that stuff was just horse poo.
Quote:

4.) You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.
6.) You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being homosexual is natural.
9.) You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but loony activists who have never been outside of San Francisco do. 18.) You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites, and bestiality should be constitutionally protected, and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.

4.- Is anyone that stupid or dependent on their government? Although on a side note, much of the Medieval art was typically summoned and funded by higher power, typically the Roman Catholic Church. I still disagree with this one though.
6.- I just don't get this one. It's getting pretty well known that gender roles are being broken and almost non existent, while almost all gays can only explain their homosexuality by saying, "I was just never attracted to women, only to men."
9.- I guess this one might just be me, but I know plenty of hunters, and I think hunting is a fine sport. When it's for the purpose of population control, or if it won't affect a natural habitat, hunting is one of the most amazing things a person can do IMHO.
18.- I think that liberals are simply trying to have equal rights for display, just as Christian mangers have the right to display their religion and faith, so should gays be allowed to display their beliefs, as long as it isn't shoving it in someones face. Just don't watch the damn parade.

Or maybe I'm just slowly becoming conservative, but I do like to think that I am slightly, if at all, "liberal" I'd call it more open minded than anything else.

So then how do you explain the liberal's removal of the Ten Commandments? Or the liberal's declaration of the Pledge of Allegiance as unconstitutional? No equal rights there...

I think it's a "You break my toys, I'll break yours" sort of thing.

Your getting older...I have slowly (more these last few years) gone from slight left leanings to slight right leanings (you might say I'm farther right but it really depends on issues - some of which I still lean left on). But the trend toward increasing conservativism with age is common and I would argue based on an increased understanding of human nature (many are out to get whatever they can without working for it), an increased understanding that people spend money MUCH, MUCH more freely when they did not earn it, and the perspective that certain social issues have historically never been solveable with money (from the early Greeks to the failed socialist states), and perhaps, the realization that certain core beliefs, such as family, religion, are more important than you thought (though maybe for very different reasons than you thought). But whatever your leanings..open minded is a superior trait not limited to any one group.

BTW, as you consider many prominant older liberals, concider that they often share certain features: they were 1) sheltered from "reality" (see above) by virtue of wealth or fame or environment (surrounded only by liberals...i.e. universities) or 2) they are benifactors of the government social program "bait" or 3) they make a career out of convincing people they need the goverment to make life better, more fair, etc (ie. career politicians).

Just a perspective...think about it.

21.) You have to believe its OK for Clinton to have dodged the draft but not ok for Bush to have served in the National Guard.

1. Admit You are totally wrong about everything.

2. Quit believing the "I got mine You get Yours " idea.

3. Do not use any programs created by "liberals" like help for your screwed up ADD/whatever kids, help for your old people that need "free medical and drug benefits" much less nursing home care , etc.

The list goes on and on The Consevatives take care of themselves and preach at the rest of the world (Jingoists) the "liberals" try to help everyone cause we are all in this together.

I could go on But.............

Please do, I need my afternoon entertainment.

But what you're saying here is that people can't take care of themselves? I wonder if your own personal traits have led you to believe all people need the help of others.

If you were taxed the way the liberals want you to be taxed, you couldn't drive that Porsche you have (that is, before you wreck it). We'd all only be able to afford Ford Escorts if the liberals had their way.

How can you be a liberal? You used inheritance money to buy a pleasure car!
