Recently obtained a P0420 and P0460 code. Ford is blaming it on my removed resonator. I had resonator removed about one month ago with no problems. Car otherwise runs great. Other mods are True Rev Induction and JET performance chip. Chip had been pulled and CEL remains. Any help would be appreciated.

Im running into the same problem....Try buying the O2 Enhancers form SPMotorSports.Com....they attach to your exsisting O2 Sensors and change the voltage to them to prevent the CEl form comming on when you do custom exhaust systems.There 64.99 for a set of 2 ( there are 4 on a v6 and i believe 2 on the 4 cyl) Basicly it makes your o2 sensors believe that your exhaust is still stock. That should fix it....But im not sure if the machines that they use for smog checks can detect that your using them.

Oh by the way...to remove the CEL light, disonnect the battery and then push on the breaks to release any voltage in the system...then reattach the battery...and the light should go away.

P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency below Limit - Bank No 1. Bad O2 or cat.
P0460 Fuel Level Input circuit malfunction. (never seen this one)

Thanks for the advice regarding the O2 enhancers. Let me know how they work if you decide to try them. I disconnected the battery and replaced the chip and as of now, no CEL. If I try really hard, I can almost make myself believe I fixed the problem.

In regards to the P0460, I wondered if it was a past CEL that was triggered when I got a tank of bad gas. The car ran like garbage for a few days until it cleared out.

you know.....Now that I look at it these are the exact same codes that I got just recently....I took it to my personal machanic....and he asked me if my Fuel level gague was working....and it was it was working fine. so he just reset the code. I think it happened when the stupid dealer where i bought it from, filled up my car with 87 octane(iv only had this SVT for 3 months) in stead of 91....i got such crappy millage.....well my gague works fine.
Just to let you know, code 460 will not set off your check engine light.....But i find it weriod that the exact same codes that I have would appear in your car too....maybe the bad gas affected an o2 sensor. But im waiting for it to show up again.....If the same codes reappear then i know that there related.
Save your money for now...Let my car be the gunnie pig so i can tell you whats wrong and you don;t spend a crap of money on fixing problems that don;t exist.
