Well, my car went in last week for the sunroof, AC, and suspension noise.

at first, the dude (steve) told me the ac wasnt covered under warranty, nor was teh sunroofmotor.
he also told me that the shifter linkages in the tour is not adjustable (even thought i got a thourough description on how to do it from terry)

i got a call later that day to tell me the car was done.
#1 sunroof motor was rreplaced under warranty
#2 ac was fixed under warranty (broken condeser line from when they did the motor swap)
#3 replaced both rear swaybay endlinks and bushings (they were both broken)

so i picked up the car, and sure enough i heard the noise as soon as i left the lot.

i called back on monday to b1tch, and was told to bring it in last friday.
so i did.
so i took Lenny, the head service tech guy, for a ride (he actually drove) to hear my noise.
he could not hear it, any of teh multiple times it did it. finally hea heard it and said 'ok, now i know what were dealing with'

got a call early in the afternoon that it was done. went down to get it.
they said that there were rocks inbetween the exhaust heat sheild and the body, and that my rear bumper was making noises.

again, it made the noise before i left the lot, turned around and went into see steve. he said to leave it for a few days, i said no, getteh tech up here and i will take him for a ride.

well, onthe way out to the car i notice my rear mesh is mangled and there are zip straps behind it.
the tech claimed that the mesh was making all the noise. HAA!
he never heard the noise and kept saying he wanted to take out the mesh. FOOLS!!
so he took off the straps and started hitting my bumper making my (now loose) mesh rattle. not the right noise!
he took it back in and said he would look at it. instead he printed out the inner fender tsb and said he will order the parts.

so i went in to talk to Curt Bonnell.
when he finally came out, he tried to tell me that the mesh had been boken for a while (not)
and that the tech told him he never touched it (even though he left the zipstraps on my front seat.) e also called my mesh 'cheap and cheesy, and installed horribly"
took him for a ride and when he finally heard the noise, he said 'That little noise has you all worried, heh, we cant do anything about that. i cant beleive you brought it in for that noise'
i dont care ho wlittle he thinks the noise is, the car should not be making it!!

hmph...sorry for the supah long rant...it could have been longer trust me.

If it were me in your situation, I would have had to make some sort of asanine comment to Mr. Bonnell about the lack of technical knowledge of his technicians and that they are liars for destroying my mesh and then blatently lying about it right to me even though it was held in with zip straps after he tried to remove it and damaged the mesh, then tried to hide the damamge the hacker way by mangling it back to place and using zip straps and he even had the audacity to leave others on the front seat of my car.

Then I'd grab my keys and be out the door and not pay them a dime, and when askd to pay a bill, if there was one, I'd say, for the service I got from the lurps in your service dept. you should pay me money.

i dont know how baco gets good service from them, but i would not recommend them to anyone who cares about their car.

luckily he didn't have to pay (except for the deductible on the warranty work).

to clarify, the tech had put zip straps on the bumper, but then after when he was banging on the rear and arguing with elky, he ripped the zip straps off and put the ripped ones on the seat.
(that tech couldn't speak english to save his life either, which was totally irritating).

I'd like to further testify that they're all a bunch of asses at that place.
the mere site of kurt bonnell makes you want to kick this guy in the face.
no one is friendly or helpful at all. their business office is totally disorganized, and when you ask for someone you get dicked around for extended periods of time (you wait forever to get anything accomplished there, no matter how simple the task may be) before anyone comes to help you, and then when they come to help you, they refer you to some other dumbass who doesn't have a clue.

I still say you should get the struts checked out for the cause of the squeak.

I seroiusly think Mike Schoolhoue won't sleep or eat until your he finds out what that rattling is. Oh, and they have one of the best trouble-shooters in the country there. He won an award in some national competition. Call em up and talk to Gene.

interesting. i'll be on the lookout. i have never dealt with Kurt, but Sue, his wife. she is always nice to me! wink and the work gets done quickly and without fault.

i also have never brought it in for a "problem". i had them run a TSB/recall check, and an inspection.

but i brought the GL there for a couple jobs and they only messed up once. tightened the lug nuts on my wheels too tight. which would have been easily reconciled had i not clipped the driver's mirror off the car in the process. but that was my fault, not theirs.

i'm not trying to defend them. i owe them nothing, but they are the most competant service place within about 50 miles of me.

I agree with baco...

I've had both of my SVTs in there. Every time, I get treated respectfully and my car is fixed quickly and correctly...the first time.

Dunno Elkster...I think they're fuggin you around. Maybe they know it's been nine months since you got laid, and that you're a little irratable...

wink laugh
