Kind of like another "Euro" Ford sedan we know. I can't imagine why people on this board would like XRs, though.

Once again with the history lesson.

The "CDW-27" was made to replace the "aging" Sierra platform in Europe, and if you look at the two 4-door sedan versions side-by-side, you will even see some similarities. The Mondeo/Contour looks for all intents and purposes like an evolution of the Sierra styling theme, especially in the "aerodynamics" department.

At the same time, the Ford company was changing. They went from a "multinational" to a "global" company, with the Sierra replacement targeted as the first "global" product of the newly structured company. If it weren't for that, the cars might have been even more similar in terms of where they were built. As it is, the Montour are as European as anything Ford ever produced, except that they weren't all built in Dusseldorf.
