Does anyone have any idea what class I would be in? Would it matter what tires I used (it would either be drag radials on the front or regular street tires). I'm trying to get myself set up for the season opener the SCCA is having at DTE.

Most likely you'll be Street Modified. Not sure if drag radials would put you into race tire class. If they have a treadwear under 200 I believe you get put in the race tire division of street mod.

I asked a few of the SRT guys and they said they're all in street prepared. Street mod is where you end up if you change your turbo (for the most part). Everything else puts me into street prep though, so I'd be there with street tires. Someone mentioned the sidewalls on the drag radials was too thin/flexible and wasn't a good idea to auto-x in them. Makes sense. I checked to see what else was in my class. I plan on getting my ass handed to me by a few Miatas and Hondas. My car is actually big for its class, haha.

i could have sworn i've heard of people using drag radials for auto-x. but on all four corners... i'd have to think the car would be mighty unbalanced with them just at the fronts... unless sliding the ass around the cones is your goal!

ya drag radials would suck as the sidewall isn't mad to handle that sort of use. but anything over 200 as barge said you sould be in SP but what SP is the question?

Depends on the drag radial. Certain Drag radials are the hot ticket for street tire AutoX if you run them on all 4 corners.
