They are animals. So what?
Impose limits to make sure the population is not decimated but otherwise there is nothing wrong with this. It isn't like they are killed for sport.
profit is a far better motivation.
Of course, I advocate killing protesters for sport. They are useless to society.
Is killing an animal only OK if it is ugly or smelly?

i think people are more upset on HOW they kill them, like the clubbing of baby seals and gutting them while still alive.
I say kill them humanely (hmm isnt that an oxymoron), how bout quick, easy and painless?

A recent trend in kids movies has turned seals from cute and fuzzy to evil creatures. Kids loved seals until march of the penguins. The seals eat mommy penguins, dead mommy penguins equals no food for daddy and baby. Baby dies and march of the penguins pulls on the heart strings of both young and old. I left that movie (after my girlfriend made me watch it) and a little girl came out of the theater with a mean look on her face. She said, "I hate seals. Seals are bad."
8 Below, a movie I saw recently with my girlfriend's ten year old cousin had lion seals kill one of the disney heroic dogs.
If another kids movie has seals as the enemy it will not be long before we see little kids out there clubbing and gutting baby seals.
