hi guys. just finished changing the tranny fluid and i noticed the motor mount on the driver side (the black rubber thing under the air filter) was just sitting there. it wasn't even attached!!! i picked it up and the bolt was snapped right off. where do i go about picking up another bolt? i welded a nut on and got it to come out, but i need to know what size it "was" and where i can get it. thanks.

Oh...and should i be worried if i put in 3 quarts of tranny fluid and it didn't spill out?

I had the same problem with mine. You're best bet is to the whloe assembly and go to the local Hardware store, Home Depot or Lowes and get a "GRADE 8" bolt that fits in there. Thats what I ended up doing with mine. I can't remember the exact length or diameter of the bolt, thats why it is best to take it with you.

Cyclic fatigue eventually breaks the bolt.

You will have to use and Eazy-out to take the snapped portion out of the mount that it bolted on the tranny, then you can screw a new bolt, wit washer, into the mount. Just make sure you get a Brade 8.8 or higher bolt, not a cheapo bolte for your garden fence, or it'll break again in no time.

I had the same problem, I just got a 1/2" bolt about 4.5"-5" long, i don't remember exactly, with a large washer. I put it in place of the mushroom looking piece that slides through the rubber bushing. I then put a nut and washer on the bottom side and bolted it down. So far so good.

stazi, i don't need easy out because the bolt was already gone. could it be possible that the previous owner new about it and removed it without replacing it? and do i need the washer? i got the bolt out of the black piece that it was in so i can reuse that. and should i put a nut on the bottom once it's through the motor mount?
