What do you recommend for SATA cables , I just checked over mine and they seem real brittle and sloppy .1 of them even has a crack in it ...not sure if there is a better way to hold them in place but it sure doesnt seem to fit like i want them to , seems like they should have made it so they lock in and snap or something , other then the way they are .

i've never had a problem with sata cables... are you sure you mean sata? on some mobos, they do tent to work their way loose unless the mobo has the updated sata 2 or something that clip in.

I've always found SATA cables to be flimsy and cheap myself. But no matter which brand of cables I use, they all seem to hold just as tight.

The ones that came with my ASUS boards are nice and tough. The pair that came with my SI card were POS, so they went into the trash with the box.

You should be okay ... in about a year or so you should be able to come across them free in some places, just like IDE.
If you're worried still, you could always try giving them a light coating of vaseline. Not sure if it works, but I read somewhere before that it can help with brittle rubber ... can anyone shed on light on this old wives tale?
