Just thought I'd drop a note into your forum.

I'm looking for an SVT speedo in KPH (primary/large readings).

I've got a 99 SVT from the US and would prefer to have it reading in KPH vs MPH (find it difficult to see the small kph readings on the US spedos).

Anyone got a line on one, please drop me a note at:

Join the club. Although one of the members did happen to have the misfortune of wrecking there car within the last week so it maybe getting parted out. Might be worth finding out where the car went. I was thinking to do this but actually like what I have done with my speedo already.

Green 96 mystique gs 4cyl mtx 16.9 in the 1/4 mile @102500 miles 95SE in Midnight Red MTX MSDS headers and y-pipe SVT exhaust SVT UIM Optimized se TB. Full pre 98 SVT body kit 15.741 @ 87.73mph :)

Having bought one of the few Contour SVT's on the east coast, I can tell you that you won't find one out there . I watched them all come in at the local dealership, and I could likely count them all on one hand (OK.. maybe a couple of hands).

I am not sure if it is just a simple bolt in application - whether you plug in the cluster and it says hey.. a Canadian cluster. I would be curious to know what happens.

On a side note.. I got used to the outer ring of my Cobra reading miles/hour - as I imported it from the US. Kind of annoying at first, but I got used to it pretty quickly.

BTW, is there an SVT dealership in Halifax yet?

Actually it is plug and play IIRC. There are resistors and such that need to be changed if you swap between the V6 and I4 engines though.

Craig, I've got two SVT's so I likely have more than anyone this side of Montreal. Actually, one might say I've got 1.5 as I wrote the 98 off in Septmeber.

Regarding reading the MPH/KPH, my vision isn't great for detail anymore so it's difficult to see the small inner KPH readings and I tend to drive much faster than I should , especially in the SVT .

It's most important for pulling my speed down and quickly seeing where I need to get it to when I spot a ghost car, etc .
