I'm just curious as to what kinda money people are spending on auto insurance here. What are the details of your policy? Thanks for any and all info!

i have Merc but am seriously getting screwed over.
does anyone else have two vehicles but only one driver?
i am paying $1200 for 6 months on my CSVT and my Z714x4!
i have a group discount, good driver discount, multiple auto discount, low annual mileage discount and the csvt is listed as a daily driver while the z71 is listed as a pleasure usage vehicle.
all tickets and accidents have been cleared and i just renewed my policy at this rate.
*the policy has me and my wife listed on it but i expressly told the broker that we do not live together and she never drives them. SHE said that it will make my rate go UP if i take her off.
SO, is this rate normal for having 2 vehicles for one person? this is the first time i have had 2 vehicles at once. i thought it would be slightly more than 1 since i can't drive two cars at the same time.
im trying to sell my truck but im paying big $ every month just to insure it.

i just talked to my stupid broker. she overcharged me and said Mercury wont give me a refund for her mistake!
im gonna have to go back now and see how much i have been over-paying and then see if i have any chance to recover this amount. I HATE dealing with insurance companies!

Carlos,

You should try State Farm. Call Larry Krieger at 292-0411 ask for Heather and tell her you know us, Christine & Chris.

Mercury Casulty isnt bad either.

Have you tried an Insurance Broker, where they sell like 30 different companies and can give you the rates from all 30?

State farm...i pay about 1000 a year...full coverage 500.00 deductable...only reason though, is because i was on my dads policy till i was 20 years old....so when i got my own policy it was lower than usual.

I pay $215 every 3 months at farmers insurance. Full coverage. It all depends where you live, age, and your driving records.

I will now be paying $1400 a year, for two vehicles with Mercury. you can go to Mercury's website and get an automated quote.
in the LA area, Mercury and AAA are the cheapest, and are both really good from my experience.
I know that state farm, all state, 21st century are all fantastic as well.

Geico is a rip off and Progressive, from what i remember, was even worse.

dont forget, if you go through a broker, most of them slap a commission on top of the policy. Some barely sqeeze a little extra while others charge a lot. they just hide in the overall quote.

ps if you dont own a home, get the lowest coverages possible. it makes a big difference in how much you will pay.
