I've got the 13" Baer kit, and when it rains, it can be downright scary to drive. The brake response is non-existent.

I'm thinking that the rotors get a mist of water on them which prevents the pad to grab the rotor properly. It's fine when I brake often (I.E. in heavy traffic) but once I cruise in the rain for a couple miles, I really have to watch my distance and speed. Lord help me if something gets in my way and I have to brake hard... If I do, the car doesn't slow down at all for a sec or so, until the water clears away from the rotor, and the pad grabs it. (fine then, but braking is still not optimal)

Any ideas? Bad wheel design that sprays water on the rotors? (Enkei RS5) Bad pads? Shi++y driver?

This is a problem that plagues stock Grand Prix's as well, right down to a T. You should see the complaints about it at the NHTSA website, not to mention the grand prix forums. I'm convinced it's a pad compound issue, because people with anything other than stock brakes or pads just never experience it, and if it was a "wet rotor" issue it would be a more universal problem across more cars and more braking systems, but it isn't.

Slotted rotors are purported to help, but if I were you (and unless someone comes in with a more scientifically sound answer) I'd get a different kind of pad.

Do you have carbon fiber pads by chance? Anything KVR? It's pad compound I'm willing to bet.

My bet is that is wet situations you rotors cool off quick and the hard pad compond isn't grabbing.

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Exactly what I was going to mention. My KVR Carbon Fiber pads did this, EXACTLY as you described. My bendix don't

well... here a technique from Drivers ed. I learned about wet brakes. If you keep your foot lightly on the brake... the pads will make a small ammount of friction and dry the discs off fairly quickly... But that can be a hassle in your case... Maybe contact the manufacturer about it?
