Costco up here in Toronto is offering to fill your new tires with nitrogen. They're making claims of a smoother ride, better mileage, etc..

Anyone ever heard of this?

Up next ... methane with igniters at the valve stems

No, considering ~80% of the air in your tires consists of nitrogen...

Have them check your blinker fluid and muffler bearings as well.

Now race cars use a higher nitrogen blends because it expands less
with heat, but otherwise useless on the road IMO.

If I am not mistaken some racing series out there use nitrogen in their tires due to that gas being less prone to great air pressure fluctuations during racing???? I thought I heard something along those lines during a race broadcast but can't remember which one.

Only prob is where do you refill???

Cheers

Nitrogen does not change pressure as much with temperature changes.

Also it would be moisture free.

There would be ZERO MPG or performance benefits.

Military & Commerical aircraft use 100% nitrogen for the first 2 reasons.

2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor! It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.
