Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone can give me anytips of making an Xbox DVD ROM NOT THE WHOLE unit fit in the area of the car. Also How can i wire the xbox to my car so that when i crank the car it does go off. any help would be great!
um.... i dont think you can make the xbox dvdrom drive work far away from the motherboard, because of the uncommon wires that connect the two.
but to make it turn on and off, wire an inverter off of a relay, and there's a thing called a doorbell mod that uses a wireless doorbell trigger to turn the Xbox on.
or you can just buy my modified Xbox and store your games on the harddrive, so you could put the xbox in the trunk, buy a wireless controller and be set to go. you'll never need to access the dvd drive. it also plays divx movies and such
still need the dvd drive hooked up for the xbox to work.. otherwise you get error 11 and your xbox wont boot
His has it. He just said you don't need access to it since everything is store on the harddrive.
This kinda relates to my carputer thing I'm still interested in doing.
Would the IDE cable (in my case would be the slimline w/power included) be able to work from the trunk to the dash? Or is that way too much line loss?
If that wouldn't work, I was thinking USB or maybe custom fitting the computer behind the dash somewhere.

i have a softmodded one with stock hdd and i can only put 1 game on it at a time.
