I'll let the picture tell the tale. Special thanks to Carbotech for their brake pads which allow my car to pitch into the ground.. I'll have to post in the pictures section when I get more of them uploaded.

Had a blast as always - great to see everyone again. I think there were 6 SVT Contours at last count. Unfortunately my day was cut short by some cords that decided to show themselves outside of the rubber on the slicks - but I got the majority of the day in by that time.

Loads of fun as always. Damn Craig that is a nasty looking pic. We gotta get you some coilovers or something. When i get home i might post some pics i have as well. The new Avon Tech RAs were awesome. These are definitely a step up from the Victoracers i was running before.

I also got to drive a new MazdaSpeed 6 at the track. They are QUICK!!! Great acceleration and smooth and quiet. however going from my 2950 lb car with 225 45 17 tires to a 3600 lb car with 215 45 18 tires ...well you get the picture. they are very capable and competent. They would be awesome with a wider tire and more aggressive brake pad.....sorry i always think like a racer.

Overall if i was considering an under $40K car it would have to be near the top of my list right now. I was impressed.

Good to see all of the contours out there. Aaron, get that damn arm healed up and your car troubles fixed up will you. We need to get you out there next time.

Cheers
Fern

Fern, I plan to be there next year. Trust me I can't wait unitl my arm is healed, I must say that once I drive again I have a feeling my foot will be meeting the floor very often.

I'm glad a whole bunch of you Contour owners showed up! I'll post my pics as soon as I figure out how to condense all the pics I have.

If you guys have any pics of the group or the event, email them to me at svtwannabe@gmail.com. It'd be nice to get everyone's take on the weekend.

PS> Craig...every time you were taking the corners I thought you were going to scrape.

Yeah.. can't say I am proud of it .

I need stiffer front springs for sure... I am really starting to think that I have 4 cyl Koni front springs, as noone else with the Konis seemed to be touching down.

do you have really big ears? Also does your face always look like a characture behind hte wheel?

Here are some of my pics. No SVT though. Please ignore the tape. The car has only 3K miles on it and I was trying to keep the stone ckips and rubber marks to a minimum.

More pictures at the SVTOA Redline Rendezvous website

And for the Contour owners:

Great pics Richard. It was awesome to see so many Contours at one event. I attend many events in the USA and I am usually the only Canadian and the only Contour owner. So great shot of all the Contours in a row.

Unfortunately the monarch butterfly was firmly planted on my lower front grill. Moment of silence please....

Anyway I hear that car #408 was pretty quick on the track

Great time as always and my hats off to the volunteers!!

Cheers

Hats off to you, Fern, for being an instructor to all our Contour owners.

Oh...I'm still expecting some more pics from George who showed up on Saturday (he was also one of the temporary marhsalls). Remi just sent me his pics as well and they are on the site.

who's car is the red one, under the sti pic?

What rims are those? I like them.
Posted By: SVTforme_dup1 Re: SVTOA On Track - Shannonville - 08/24/06 09:40 PM
Both red cars are mine.. actually it is one car that I was playing musical rims with since my slicks were corded.

They are Roush Hyper Silver Focus 17x7's with modified SVT centers to fit.

Damn those are sweet. How much were they per rim!?

Right now, Roush is listing them with tires at $1,495 USD.

They also look a lot like the Ford Focus European Appearance Package rims as well:

..well, except for the Roush emblazened on them Only $120 USD each.
Posted By: SVTforme_dup1 Re: SVTOA On Track - Shannonville - 08/27/06 12:24 AM
Well.. seeing that I have some fairly good "connections" at Roush, I bought the entire set for much less than the cost of one rim .

For those counting.. the Roush rims have 16 spokes, and the SVT have 15.
