I need alittle guidance. I want to do the rear brake upgrade from drum to disc. I have currently been looking for parts at the salvage yard. I want to know if I don't have ABS can I use parts that are ABS? Example I found a set of calipers from a 95 Contour(ABS) can I use them? My next question I found hubs from a 2000 contour will they work on a 95 contour? I can also buy rotors form a 95 Contour(ABS) from the yard should I buy them or invest in new ones?

Searched alot. I received some helpful info from Big Jim. My biggest concern was using the ABS parts. I'm just going to go for it I think I'll be okay wish me luck.

IIRC, you can use the ABS disc brakes to a non-ABS contour... Basically the difference is a wire going to the brake to control it. So all you do is not hook up that wire and you SHOULD be golden. Someone correct me if im wrong though

There's no wire that goes to the brakes to control them. The wires that goes to the brakes is the sensor harness, to read the speed of the wheel.

I'm no sure if the hub of non-ABS can fit on ABS hub. If you change the complete knuckle there shouldn't have any issues.

Nic.
