If you are interested in being in the 05 CEG calendar, here are the requirements:1. Must be a current CEG memberIt doesn't make sense to have pics of cars of people that no longer are on CEG or own the car.
2. High Resolution - 1600x1200 or greaterMany candidates were "elimintated" due to having low resolution pictures. Scanned, enlarged pics will not work.
3. High QualityPictures in your driveway, in front of your house, etc. are not calendar quality.
4. "Work in progress" carsPrimered parts, meshless, one spare wheel, etc. are unacceptable.
5. No repeat picturesPictures from last year will not be used. Pictures from that same series will not be used.
6. PhotoshopAbsolutely no PS pics.
Other info:=Mods=
Mods have no bearing on inclusion/exclusion from calendar. This is a calendar - it is visual. Cars can be any color, any year, mild to wild. It's the quality and background that's important.
=Who gets in=
The process for selecting what pictures will be in the calendar will be at the discretion of a small panel of members.
=Content/layout/design=
The calendar will be very basic due to price. The fancier it is, the more it will cost. Last years calendar was slightly under $20 for a very basic calendar. We'll continue that for 05.
=Deadline to submit pics=
October 31, 2004
=Calendar release date=
1st-2nd week of November

not to brown-nose or anything but this has got to be the Best looking tour i have seen to date!! reminds me of my 98 accord, looked very similar. This car has to be voted in. The one of the rear shot with just the SVT emblem showing looks uber-professional and should go on the cover.

Hey pete, I have a question. You said no submitting pictures that were used last year. What if we submitted a photo but it didn't get used at all, can we re-submit it or is it disqualified? Matt is absolutely correct.
Guys, anyone can take a pic of their car in their driveway, in a parking lot or in their lawn. The background makes or breaks the picture in most cases.
Keep posting the pics, and maybe you guys will get some ideas for pics. There is plenty of time before the deadline.

[my 2 cents] man when done right it will bring a tear to your eyes i took some pictures a while back but my digi cam isn't that high of a resolution so it would make good calender pics but i was in corpus cristi at the time and during sunset or sunrise man it looked beutiful
we need more pictures with emotion
any body can pick up a camera and take a piture but it takes skills to capture the beuty [\my 2 cents]

your pics look great. it really looks like you put some thought and effort into the pic ideas from all the spots you have your car at. the lighting on some of those looks really good too. i think i vote for the one in front of the water reservoir.
I could imagine this pic being somewhere in the chillier months (though it's a summer weather picture, if you think about it, it looks like a chilly sunset in october/november)

wa2tuffs ride isn't ugly I'm just not for the gascap and the painted reflector. Maybe the gascap doesn't match the grille color? I donno, but from the front angle it rocks, I like it a lot.

ridered81, you've got a good eye! Those are indeed from Whipple Dam. My fiancee and I went over there on Sunday around 3PM and took a walk. I figured why not take some pictures of the car while I was there too.

- There are 21 candidates to make the 12 month calendar.
- Judging will be done by myself and several other CEGers.
- Once the final 12 have been chosen, they will be sent off to another CEGer for CEG name insertion and some other things.
- Once returned, I will get in touch with the printing company and work out all the details.
Just like last year, the final 12 will not be revealed until the calendar is complete - even those who made the calendar will not know.
I hope hoping to have them available for purchase in 3 weeks.
I wish there was a way to get more pics in as I feel that there are enough pics for a 20 month calendar. Thanks to everyone who submitted pics.

I hosted my photos for this but only viewable for a limited time. Do those who have theirs including myself have to rehost those photos again to view them again here?

What happens if you posted a pic with a low resolution and yo make it in? do you have to send in the larger pictures then?

Okay, to answer some questions:
- There are 21 candidates - each has 2-6 pictures.
- It doesn't matter that your pics are no longer visible due to hosting reasons. I have saved/acquired/received pics for the candidates.
- Candidates names will NOT be revealed under any circumstances. The last thing I want is for there to be a flame war about "______'s pics are better than ______'s" / "________'s car is better looking than ______'s" / etc. By not knowing you are a candidate eliminates potential flame wars, arguements, and hard feelings.
- There were 21 CEGers who took
hi-quality, hi-resolution, unique/thought provoking/inspirational pictures. Pictures in driveways/parking lots/at meets just don't cut it. That's why I suggested picking up a Road & Track and taking a look at how professional photographers use background, lighting and angles to take great photos - in most cases of stock vehicles. Just a tip for 2006.
Be patient, I'm working on this as fast as I can.
And those not putting the time and effort into getting this made have no say anyway. They can sod off.
Keep up the good work Pete. Can't wait to buy one no matter what's in it. Hopefully CDW-27's.
i will be buying one regardless as well. if im not in it oh well, 12 pics that were better than mine will be and i will enjoy looking at them!

One question - the 2004 calendar appears to have some issues with images being cropped undesirably (print bleed region issues?). Will this be resolved in the new calendar?

Candidates are currently in the "judging" process.
I already have plans to have last year's problems resolved.

26 candidates' pictures were put through a "judging" process by 6 CEGers from throughout the country.
The "best, calendar quality" pics were chosen by each judge.
The most frequently chosen pics were chosen to be put in the calendar.
The pics will be sent to a CEGer for layout/design today.
*Hopefully* the calendar will be ready for purchase by the end of next week.

Pete, a suggestion for the person editing the pictures. Don't put the month name on the picture since it's already on the calendar itself. That was the one thing that bothered me about this year's calendar. November November!
All pics are being edited/designed as we speak.

Layout/design of calendar is taking a little longer than anticipated.
I hope to have them back by this weekend then off to the printer.
Then it's in the printer's hands - which will determine when they will be available for sale. (Hopefully soon!)
I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised by the results.

The pics that made the calendar will not be revealed.
All the pics are back from editing and are being submitted to the printer as we speak.
I'll post in the Group Buy forum as soon as they available for purchase.

I emailed/PMd the pictures that were lacking resolution and gave them a week. Only one person ot back to me and unfortunately did nto have any higher resolution versions.
T-minus 15 minutes before the calendar is available. I'm working as fast as I can!
