TX inspection and MSDS headers new
#881263 - 03/19/05 09:15 AM

I've heard for awhile now that inspection/emissions tests are only getting tougher here in Tx. The engine will soon be out of my car and I'm debating on whether or not it will go back in with MSDS headers.

For those of you with these headers, what has been your experience concerning state inspections? Do you make a point to take it to a "friendly" shop? If taken to any 'ol inspection place, it is just a coin flip whether or not the inspector notices the pre-cats are missing?

On the fence,
Randy

jet hot offers colors other than silver, such as black (maybe an iron color too). anyway, not as flashy as silver. if they dont get under the car i dont think they will ever notice your headers. ill take a pic from up top if you'd like.

SAFETY inspection?

HELL NO... They wouldn't notice it is it scalded them while they were changing oil on your car.

One person will sit in the car while another does a quick walk around the car and will ONLY do the following:

test high/lows... horn. wipers.

signal left/right(front and back).. license plate lights.. reverse lights. MAYBE tint (I've had ONE place check it.. EVER, in my life..) tire tread.. one rear-view mirror on driver's side.

that's it.

nada mas.. fini.. done.

As long as the check engine light isn't on, you should be good to go. Visually, you still have the main cat, so they see that.

I had some dufus ask me if I had removed the cat from our old 85 CRX. I showed him it was up next to the engine.
