Go to the y-pipe optimization instructions in the how to section in modifications off the homepage and
print off the instructions+take them to your muffler shop. It will change the sound of the whole car
and make it sound more "throaty"

I have yet to find a shop in so cal that will mess with it.
I even went to a shop that modified a friend of mines cougar with msds headers and a custom y/high flow cat countless times.

He said it was a pain because every week the guy would bring his car back with problems (cats blowin) and said the labor would be a lot to do it.

My question is, how hard to remove the stock heat shield?
I dont have the equipment, yet im guessing a shop would do the job if I removed the stock shield, then attached it later.

The heat sheild has to be cut off, then tack welded back on. If you have somebody do this for you the labor should be about $150 and you should have to do NOTHING yourself.

As for the cat, you can pick up a high-flow cat on the BAT web site for about $150 (perhaps less elsewhere) to match up with your modded Y. That combo should yield zero problems.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I just had my buddy do the y-pipe mod on his 96 Mystique V-6,and he said that it was the first time he
modified something and was really happy with it for the money. Best money on the car that you could
ever spend ...!!!!!
