it looks like it won't fit. Is my engine the same as everyone? Iono why it says VCT

I wouldn't chance it. That looks like some of the ebay covers I've seen. I'd suggest finding a local powder coating shop and have your valve cover done there. There would be no problems of fitment and it would be cheaper.

That's a silvertop alloy rocker cover from the early pre Focus Zetec engine. They fit the later engines with the black plastic cover as long as you use the early type gasket.

I maybe wrong but doesn't the VCT have a connector that comes through the valve cover? if so that one isn't going to work on a VCT equiped zetec ...

yeah ^^^ he's right. That cover will not fit. You have vct, so you have a solenoid right after you number 4 sparkplug. sell that on ebay or something

No, that will not fit. I'm assuming you found that on ebay, nearly all of them are for pre-98's (silvertop).

You need to find one with the hole for the VCT connector.

Yes it got the Black top Zetec. But not with the the variable valve timing on the inlet valves that only came on the Focus ST170 in the UK. This engine with the vvt was badged as a Duratec in the european markets, even though it used the Zetec block.

yep, our SVT focus was the same way, it had VVT on the intake cam as well, considering the fact that they were practically the same motor.

Ford used VCT on the exhaust cam for the contour Zetec, the cougar zetec, and the Escort ZX2 motors, it was a feudal attempt at increasing gas mileage and power, it really gave about 7 more horses and similar fuel economy, so they decided to go with a different version with the american market focus.
