tapping and threading AN fittings

long background short, the car is very stripped down and dedicated and there is no HVAC, so I removed the lines from the source. I can either have the 2 parts filled and welded or get some AN fittings in there and cap it off.... I kinda like the idea of capping them off incase I find some need for those outlets again later it already puts me in a plug and play situation. I feel out of my ability/resource level to do either myself.

anyways, is it possible to get an AN fitting in there and cap it off?

If the Aluminum there is much less than 0.25" thick, I doubt they'll be enough full threads to get a leak-free seal even with tapered pipe thread, and it won't be mechanically sound. If you're intent on keeping the connection re-usable and capping it, it would be better to TIG a male AN bung into the hole.

thats kinda what I thought, assumed it would likely involve welding one way or another.... it is the coolant system too so thats pretty high on the list of items I don't want problems to develop.
