I'm trying to remove the starter for bench testing. I've removed the three support bolts and the two nuts on the terminals. I cant figure out how to remove the wiring from the terminal end to get it out. There is (was) a plastic piece on the back of the starter than came out while I was manhandling it. Any ideas what I'm missing to free up the starter and pull it free?

Thanks.

Ok, so I figured out that there was a nut on a terminal I couldn't see. Typical newbie/nontechnical DIYer mistake, I suppose. Thanks anyway.

OK so since you are getting into this, I have a question -
Yeah my car is (signature), and that 175 amp fuse, should it be supported by something other than the wiring?
My car was 1/2 ass repaired by previous owner I guess cause crap just seems to sit there unsupported, anyways...

the mega fuse should clip to the wiring harness which should be bolted/screwed to the intake manifold.
