Shift Cable Adjustment?

Just installed a brand new ford trans mount for my 00 with a mtx-75 5-speed and v6, yet sometimes its hard to shift it into first and second now. The car has way less driveline lash, yet is there a way to adjust the shift cables?

I think I found it...those little orange clips. I do not have an adjustment tool yet will use a second person to help me align.

Push the clips in to realease the cable ends and center the shifter as close as you can. Lock the clips again and test it out.

I have the Ford Rotunda tool but it's honestly not even really needed. It's nothing you can't do with yourself or with a second person to hold the shifter steady.

the later 99-00 cables ends are different. IIRC, the clip is removed and the cable end is adjusted. The earlier cable ends the clip just pushes in and the cable can be adjusted.
