Properly removing and installing side skirts

When I bought my 99 SVT it was missing the skirts on the side of the car. The bracket things are there just the skirts were missing. So I pulled home an older contour today to have some parts around and someone has put SVT decals one it and it also has the side skirts so I would like to take them off and put them on my 99. I would like to do this without wrecking them so I am asking for the proper procedure here so it gets done right the first time and Im not spending a bunch of time being frustrated and risk wrecking them.

Also two of the jack joint covers are missing... where can a guy buy these?
