I have a 96 Contour automatic 2.5 and the tranny went out right as I was pulling in my driveway. I brought home the turck with a Car Caddy to tow it to my work but I can't get it in Neutral. the driveway is on a slight uphill slant so all I need is to roll it back onto the street.
When I put it in Reverse it won't engage, if it does, its for s second then it bangs out of gear. Theres fluid and 2nd gear gears rolls forward ever so slightly but when I put it in nuetral the wheels seemed to be locked up.
Any Ideas on how to disengage the trans just to free the wheels? Don't have a jack with me, even if I did I don't think it would make it over the small bump off the driveway curb.
Please Advise!!! Thank You...
