Need info: truebendz borla cat back

i need your help. I really want to free my exhaust up! right now im running msds headers in to stock exhaust(with the exception of the resonator replaced with a glasspack). Soon ill have my y-pipe optimized, and a highflow cat. MY delema starts at this point.

Will the truebendz single Borla muffler cat-back be raspy? Maybe the Magnaflow is better?

I hate rasp. Its all the difference between me, and the ricers around my area. I dont want no rattle can. So all your input would be appreciated!
 
as long as you keep your main cat you will be fine. Unless you get some rasp at cold start ups betwen 3-4k. Which high flow cat are you looking at going with?
 
high flow cat? NO IDEA yet. trying to get DanG's attention for that optimized y-pipe and i got my AEM wideband so i would need him to weld the bung on too. Im kinda lost still searching for what i should piece between the y-pipe to the cat back. Maybe straight pipe?
 
if you are running headers get the exhaust with resonators. its going to be really loud without resonators and with headers. if you had stock exhaust manifolds then the non-resonated will be fine.

ok. I mention it because a friend had the non-resonated on his car and it was just to loud and ended up adding resonators. this was with headers and sho-shop y-pipe too.

I would opt for a non muffler setup and go with a magnaflow resonator in the center and 2 muffles are the rear tips. :shrug:
OR just add a muffler and in the center...play with the exhaust a bit and you will find what your looking for.

But i'm old and i like quiet. :laugh:
 
Check the exhaust for the Escort ZX2. There are several clips of the exhaust sounds there. I'm not sure if it'll matter or not (I don't know if you have the V6 or the Zetec) but it'll give you some idea of the exhaust sound. There is one clip of the resonated Borla with race header that will show you what your car will sound like with no cat and a header, if you have the Zetec. Also, the videos with the green ZX2, that is my car.

Edit: I see you have the SVT. I guess it won't matter about the exhaust clips of the ZX2, then.
 
I have the borla kit with a catless y and stock headers. Mine has the resonators though. IMO it sounds perfect but I do need to get some MSDS headers... If you need an exhaust clip I'll see what I can do but my camera is on the fritz right now...
