Had an inconsistent IRMC problem so I replace the darlington transistor with a 2N6045 (2x just in case 1st was bad) and still do not get the motor to start. Motor runs w/ a ~9V source. I don't have a -5V source and don't want to build one or buy one.
Used a DVM to pins 1 and 3 on socket SK1(main 6 pin) to IRMC and got no readings even when throttled above 3500~4000 RPM. Stuck an LED in there and kept in mind the negative polarity of TR1. Just for grins I tried it on pins 1 and 2. No Luck! Maybe the pin 1 wire is getting shorted out due to some crumbling wire insulation??
Would anyone be willling to try a diagnostic on their functioning IRMC and give me a little advise.
